PLANNING THE CONFERENCE – two years to go
Consulting the ACT & Region

Birrigai is the ACT Outdoor Education School where we held a retreat in August 2008.
With over 2 years to go to the AAEE2010 conference, the committee set out to include representatives from community organisations, universities, schools, government departments (see list below) in designing the scope and aims of the conference. Feedback about the worthwhile nature of the consultative process has been positive and has informed the planning process. The Committee were able to begin with fresh ideas and suggestions which represent current thinking and real input into what potential participants want.
Since then the CPC has met monthly and has engaged a company called Conference Co-ordinators

BOURNDA ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTRE – one year to go
Consulting the local region

Bournda Environmental Education Centre is on Lake Wallagoot on the Far South Coast of NSW is where, one year away from the actual date of the 2010 conference the South East Network for Sustainability & Environment SENSE hosted a think tank to canvas ideas and input from the SE Region of NSW for the AAEE2010 Conference.
This preliminary thinktank provided the Conference Committee with more ideas for what needs to be done in the conference. It was especially important to hear about the contribution that is so important coming out of local community networking.. In the conference we will seek to support the sharing of good SENSE, Indigenous culture, use of new technology like Placestories, learning journeys, Clean Energy for Eternity and Transition Towns to name a few sources of power from our local region.
