AAEE Welcomes New Ministers to Cabinet

Association for Environmental Education (AAEE) today welcomes the Honourable Minister Sussan Ley to her new portfolio as Minister for the Environment.

AAEE notes that the Morrison Government has elevated the role of the environment through the establishment of a single ministry to strengthen all our efforts to meet the challenges as a school and community-based organisation to build resilience and hope.

Minister Ley has worked across a range of ministries that relate to the caring aspects of governance.

We note that Minister Ley has experience gained from the following areas:

  • Children and Youth Affairs
  • Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry
  • Housing
  • Status of Women
  • Employment Participation
  • Childcare and Early Childhood Learning
  • Minister for Education (Early Childhood)
  • Minister for Health.
  • Minister for Sport and Aged Care.

With a deep connection to Landcare issues and a personal understanding of the issues facing her home state, Queensland, we look forward to providing the wisdom from our extended membership to support the work ahead.

AAEE is a not-for-profit incorporated association that has independently pursued support and resources for education for sustainability. We work across a diverse range of educational sites and at all levels of government. For more information about AAEE, contact Dr Jennifer Pearson at admin@aaee.org.au  or 0407983469.
