National Marine Science Centre SeaWeek event

To celebrate National Seaweek, Southern Cross University's National Marine Science Centre will be hosting a Marine Discovery Series public lecture on 6 March 2025.  Guest speaker Dr Mark Spencer will take the audience on a voyage of ocean exploration and discovery. Mark is an acclaimed deepwater diver and photographer. His photographs - sometimes of rarely seen shipwrecks hidden in the deep - have been featured in publications such as National Geographic and Australian Geographic. Mark will discuss a variety of experiences, from exploring the wreck of the "Keilawarra" to very memorable experiences with marine megafauna. He will finish off the evening by sharing some personal reflections on the impact those experiences have had on how he views life, with a reference to his book “Ocean of Self” (www.oceanofself.com.au).
